A George III Mahogany Striking Table Clock, signed Henry Nichols, London, circa 1780, inverted bell top with carrying handle and acorn finials, side viewing glazed panels, bracket feet, 7-inch arched brass dial with a silvered dial plate with Roman numerals and signed, strike/silent selection in the arch, twin fusee movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, movement backplate with a central engraved urn and bordered with engraved floral and scroll decoration, 53cm high over handle see illustrations

20.02.19, Case with small scratches and small cracks to the veneers and minor chips in parts, top finials are later, back door with scuff marks, bottom left hand corner of the back door with one chip and a later piece of veneer has been added, later back door lock, around key hole with surface dented, case metal mounts are discoloured, silvered dials with small scratches, silvered surfaces are discoloured, movement with escapement converted from a verge to an anchor escapement.
