Taxidermy: A Cased Eurasian Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola), by John Cooper & Sons, 28 Radnor Street, St Luke's, London, full mount stood upon grit covered groundwork, amidst a natural setting of ferns, tall grasses and fauna, above a mirrored faux pool of water, set against a pale blue painted sky back board, enclosed within a typical ebonised bow-fronted three-glass display case with verre eglomise border, 38cm by 18.5cm by 34cm, taxidermist's full paper trade label to interior lower right, famously illustrated within "A History of Taxidermy" by C. Frost 1987
