The North West Tannery Co Ltd, Cawnpore crocodile leather suitcase, bearing a label to the underside of the cover, bearing travel stickers, 62cm by 40cm by 20cm; another similar, lacking trade label to the interior, again bearing labels, 60cm by 39cm by 20cm, both show (a.f.) Family Provenance; the vendors grandparents lived in Calcutta. Their grandfather a jute merchant, also enjoyed shooting. The hide of one large crocodile case was made into these two cases, nearly 100 years ago. When the crocodile was skinned, in its stomach were three small silver bangles - local girls were given these on each birthday, so they inferred that it was a man eating crocodile. Tragically they never found out who the child was.
