Carroll, Lewis
Miss Leila Campbell Taylor. Two photographs printed directly from the original wet collodion glass negatives, made Oct. 1879. Sunday Times, 1987. Two mounted photographs accompanied by four explanatory text sheets. Special limited edition, no. 91 of 1000,
These two images come from the final six months of Carroll's photographic output. They were, apart from one other, the only known surviving Carroll negatives and after printing this limited run, they were donated to a 'national photographic institution' on the proviso no further direct prints were ever made. These prints were so faithful to the original, that even Carroll's fingerprints at the edge of the negative are preserved in the image.
