19th Century Wax Shoulder Head 'Quaker' Doll, with blue glass eyes, painted eyelashes, eyebrows and lips, blonde wig modelled in a long plait wrapped to the back of her head, fabric body, wax lower arms and legs with painted boots, wearing a grey silk dress, and matching Quaker bonnet, cotton and wool undergarments and silk shawl, 45cm

With accompanying hand-written letter, stating the original owner lived at Bristol and 'was a member of one of the largest Quaker families in England'

. Shoulder head in one piece, 46cm. Face is very dirty, scratch to the left side of eye. Face appears to have been lacquered/varnished? Net modesty panel is deteriorating, wig in good condition, lace bonnet deteriorated. Dress very mottled overall with fading and some tiny holes, possible alterations. Cloth body, full undergarments, small hole to wool skirt. Crack running from the heel of boot and up to the top of one of the stockings. Possibly a small fault to wax leg above boot, gilt zigzag trim to top of boots. Small pin sized holes to side of one boot. Bonnet also mottled and worn, ribbon split to one side.
