An R.S.P.C.A. Medal for Meritorious Service to Animals, awarded to THE LORD O'HAGAN, together with research material.
Footnote:- Maurice Herbert Towneley-O'Hagan, The Lord O'Hagan was awarded the medal for eminent service in connection with the passing into law of the Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933. Born in 1882, educated at Marlborough and Trinity College, Cambridge. Assistant Private Secretary to the First Lord of the Admiralty, 1906-07, a Lord-in-Waiting to the King, 1907-10. Served in the Great War as a Major with the Essex R.H.A.,and was invalided out in 1918. Served in Second World War as a Lieutenant in the 9th Forest Battalion Hampshire Home Guard.
