An Aesthetic Movement Gilt Metal Porcelain Mounted Striking Mantel Clock with Garniture, circa 1880, front and side porcelain panels decorated with gilt floral decorated and painted with central bird scenes, silvered mask decorated front columns, porcelain painted dial with Roman numerals, twin barrel movement striking on a gong, movement backplate stamped with maker's mark AB with a star within an oval cartouche and numbered 6660, pendulum bob numbered 6660, 39cm high, with an urn shaped porcelain painted twin handled garniture, 27.5cm high, clock and garniture are raised upon gilt wooden bases

20.08.19 Metal surfaces are discoloured, clock case with scratches to the right hand side porcelain panel, the other porcelain panels are in good condition with no rubbing, dial edge with minor chips at 3 and 5 o'clock, movement needs cleaning, garniture with metal surfaces discoloured and with surface scratches, garniture some gilt surfaces rubbed to the top side of the painted central panels, gilt wooden bases are rubbed and the velvet is worn.
