. Original canvas of a coarse weave. Slightly loose on stretcher. Stretcher shadow to all four sides, being slightly more pronounced along the top edge. General moderate rubbing to outer edges and areas of the surface where the weave of the canvas is apparent. Covered in a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. Fine to medium sized craquelure throughout which is more pronounced in some areas as it is beginning to lift and come away from the surface. Push mark to the highly decorated stone pedestal which is relatively subtle and does not puncture the canvas. Further smaller push park towards lower left hand corner. Numerous small scratches/abrasions to the canvas especially within and along the right hand side edge, bottom edge and left hand side edge. A particularly visible example being below the kneeling figures knee in the foreground which runs vertically and is approx 1-1.5cm in length. Some possible strengthening within the sky etc...
