Born in 1931 in Dorking, Rich studied at Epsom School of Art and later in Paris. He went on to establish a studio in Kent.
His exhibitions include those held in London from 1957-1963, France and elsewhere
His work is held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, Israel.
