Sir Anthony Gormley is one of the finest British sculptors of his generation with works exhibited from Norway to New Zealand and Manchester to Manhattan. Arguably best known for his iconic 'Angel of the North' which presides over the A1 at Gateshead, Gormley was admitted to the Royal Academy in 2003 having also won the Turner Prize a decade earlier. From September to December of 2019 the Royal Academy of Arts hosted an ambitious exhibition "Antony Gormley" celebrating the work from his outstanding 45-year career. Seemingly fascinated by the delicate coaction of ink on paper, Gormley has created several figure studies in varying tones and even experimented with a series using Chicory coffee.
