An Early 20th Century Diamond Necklace, comprised of five old cut diamonds forming a Y-shaped drop, each diamond in a white claw setting with a polished lozenge shaped bar connecting them, on fine trace link chain, total estimated diamond weight 5.90 carat approximately, drop length 4.6cm, necklace length 42cm see illustration

. The necklace was valued for insurance purposes at £12800 in 2007. The necklace is in good condition. It fastens with a bolt ring catch and has a secondary bolt ring fastening safety chain. It bears no hallmark nor stamp, but has reasonable heft therefore possibly platinum. The four smaller diamonds measure 5.70mm x 5.48mm x 4.14mm, 5.78mm x 5.69mm x 4.07mm, 5.63mm x 5.62mm x 3.90mm and 5.63mm x 5.74mm x 4.12mm. The larger diamond measures 8.63mm x 8.72mm x 4.46mm = 2.35 carat approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds; colour of smaller stones J/K/L, colour of larger stone K/L, clarity of smaller stones SI2/I1/I2, clarity of larger stone I1/I2. Gross weight 7.2 grams.
