A White Mother-of-Pearl Fan, circa 1900, mounted with cream gauze, cream silk being applied and secured with tiny silver sequins. The design features a large butterfly to the right, approaching an Iris or Lily to the left, surrounded by leaves. The butterfly wings and flower petals are applied with wafer-thin mother of pearl. Contained in a cream card fan box for Duvelleroy London. Guard length 9.5 Inches or 24cm. Together with an 1880's bone fan mounted with silk satin in a buttermilk shade, painted with a spray of pink-tinged roses, buds and leaves. Fitted with a cream knotted silk tassel. Contained in a modern blue fan box. Guard length 11.25 inches or 28.5cm (2)

. First fan, one tiny panel of thin mop has partial loss. Some splits to the outer folds, the centre remaining strong, some wear to the box lid exterior. Silk fan, foxed to the plain cream recto, some wear to the silk on the upper folds.
