The Wheel of Fortune: A Very Unusual Pair of Face Screens, possibly late 18th century or early 19th century, the handles of a darkly stained turned wood, with a pointed tip, the circular screens of a heavy card covered in paper, a border painted in gold. Within an outer border of numbers, from G to start, around to the end at 40, the screen is divided into sections, each with tiny sentences, difficult to read but those that are legible appear to be telling the player's future, at the point where the spinning wheel stops. Many of the predictions commence with "you will be….", and one states "you will have plenty of admirers" The numbers are in line recto/verso. Overall height 13.25 inches or 33.5cm, diameter 8.5 inches or 21.5cm
