. Stiffly re-lined, cleaned and re-varnished. A cluster of small sized retouches to upper left hand corner. A further patch of restoration and retouching to the left of the gentleman's left hand side wig and is an area approx 3 x 4cm overall. A further patch of retouching left hand side edge centre approx 1cm by 3cm overall. Further sporadic small sized retouches elsewhere within the background. and at his left hand shoulder. With a more consistent line of horizontal retouching within the background on the right hand side approx 6cm above his shoulder. Approx 0.5cm diameter patch of retouching just right of centre upper wig. General strengthening to definition and shadows within attire. Medium to large sized stable craquelure throughout. Surface dirt and discoloured varnish. Surface somewhat flattened by restoration process.
