. The sheet is laid down onto a chamfered wood panel. Whilst some of the edges of the sheet are still wrapped around, the brittle nature of the paper has lead to various losses to the edges and extremities which mostly does not impact on the image itself. There are some effectively minor tears running into the image but these are not notable. There is significant band of vertical staining to right hand and left hand edge and is no more than 0.5cm across. The remained of the sheet also has pronounced staining. Some of which is more concentrated i.e staining and oxidisation as in the outer edges of the cloud. But also in elements of the far background/horizon etc... There is also general surface dirt. There is an amount of varying sized worm holes which are mostly contained to the foreground. Relatively sporadic small sized foxing spots to sheet etc... In generally fairly poor state of repair.
