A Green Chinoiserie Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Jno Coates, Tetbury, circa 1750, caddied pediment, side viewing windows, Oriental painted scenes depicting pagodas, figures, animals and foliage, 12-inch arch brass dial, dial centre signed on a plaque, date aperture, recessed seconds dial, four seasons spandrels, arch with strike/silent, slow/fast sectors and a central rocking "Moueo Et Profictor" automata, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and rack striking on a later gong, 241cm high see illustration

20.03.20 Painted surfaces are rubbed and faded in parts, paint is missing in parts, case needs restoring, dial is dirty, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, converted from striking on a bell to a gong, with two weights and a pendulum.
