. In a condition consistent with an unframed drawing on paper of the age of the work. There is a horizontal crease across the entire sheet approx. 1cm above the saint's head. Two further vertical lines slightly on the diagonal running from lower right hand corner to upper right hand corner of side depicting the penitent saint and approx. 1.5cm apart at widest point in upper area (i.e tapering down to small distance apart in lower right hand corner). General surface dirt, scuffs and handling marks. Small foxing spots within drapery of penitent saint towards lower right hand corner with evidence of same foxing spots to other side albeit less pronounced. Circular graphite? addition to surface on side depiction the Deposition above the shoulders of the figure in the lower right hand corner and approx. 0.5cm diameter. With other apparent feint graphite marks in and around this area and also within lower left hand corner and lower right hand corner. Odd relatively minor surface indentations/scuffs. Further general light discolouration to sheet on both sides. The side depicting the deposition has the number 104 written in pencil along the lower edge right of centre.
