An Edwardian cream cotton summer parasol, the cover worked in Broderie Anglaise style cutwork...

An Edwardian cream cotton summer parasol, the cover worked in Broderie Anglaise style cutwork with wreaths of leaves and flowers. The wooden shaft finishes with a carved bone handle, rounded to the tip, with a raised feature of carved flowers and a raised ''cuff'' either side. The maker, ''Paragon S.Fox and Co'' is stamped on a metal plate along with the drawing of a fox, on one of the metal ribs. Together with a mid-19th century folding parasol, the cover in cream silk with scalloped edges. The handle, of carved ivory, in the form of a grape vine and leaves, has a length of cream braid with ivory ring attached for sliding over the parasol to keep it closed when not in use. Together with a colourful parasol from the early 20th century, with wooden frame, made in Asia for the Western market, paper cover painted with strong colours, featuring a pair of exotic birds amongst colourful flowers (3)
