Peter Rouw (1771-1852): A Marble Portrait Bust of a Lady, a member of the Thorold family, her hair in plaits and ringlets, her head turned slightly to sinister and her shoulders draped in a classical robe, on a waisted socle carved with palmettes, signed P. Rouw Sculpt'r, 1830, 70cm high Provenance: Originally from Syston Hall, near Grantham, the seat of the Thorald family, which was demolished in 1923.
