A Staffordshire Bone China ''Irish Home Rule'' Tea Plate and Saucer, circa 1891, transfer printed in brown and overpainted in green with a bust portrait of DR CROKE and with Irish motifs, the plate inscribed ERIN GO BRAGH, printed marks, tea plate 18cm diameter These two pieces are taken from a tea service, the remaining pieces including portraits of W E Gladstone, William O'Brien and Charles Parnell. It is thought that the services were made to commemorate Gladstone's failed 1891 Irish Home Rule Bill.
